Iowa Ultimate Looking Good for Spring

Missouri Loves Company 2011 started off a little tenuous for IHUC. My friend, Diane, and I stood on a hill watching and Diane's comment to me was, "Why aren't they getting in the other team's faces? They are holding back." Given the number of new players on the team, I wasn't surprised. Who wants to make a mistake in front of the rest of the team? But after that first game, IHUC was back. The guys played well and were back on the field smiling. The amount of raw talent is impressive, and I believe IHUC will be solidly competitive in the 2012 season. While I am going to miss watching the guys who either graduated or completed their eligibility (they are always welcome at our home for lasagna and monster cookies), I am excited to see what this crew can do.

Saucy Nancy won the tournament, going undefeated. The ladies are impressive! I'm hoping that the 2012 tournament schedules allow me the chance to watch a few of their games.

All in all, spring of 2012 bodes well for Iowa Ultimate. Go Iowa!

We are going to Nationals also. Tim asked me to bring the Gatorade 3 (Recover) that I understand the players have at the end of the day. This is all new to me! So I'll bring about 70-80 of those and will get more if needed to last the weekend. I'll also bring some fruit - grapes I guess.

I am heading to Appleton, Wisconsin and will be staying at the Country Inn and Suites. Is anyone else planning to go?
